More Info:
Providing services is the way most people get started making money online. The theory behind it is simple: You can do manual online work that other people can't (Or don't have the time to) do, and they pay you for completing these tasks. These tasks could include writing, graphic design, link building, reviewing products, give them feedback on a area you specialize in, software building, and the like.
There are two main plus points with this method of making money online:
It's relatively fast to get up and running.
You can choose what kind of work you do and don't do, and you can work within your specialist are.
So let's say you're a builder, or at least have some building skills. You could find work writing for a building blog, you could look over someone's building plans and give them your opinion, you could create a ebook on building, and the like. These are all things people would pay for, and can be adapted to whatever your specialist area is.
Even if you haven't got a specialist area or passion, there is always work for people to do. This can include giving people feedback, doing reviews for products, writing for sites and books, and the like.
Getting Started:
So, how do you go about selling your service to people? Well, the easiest way is to sign up to a website such as Odesk. Odesk is a outsourcing website which works in two ways. First of all, it allows people like you to advertise themselves and the service they offer. Secondly, it allows employers to look for people with a skill set they need, and hire them.
There is a large number of people using this website in both ways, so you are bound to find work. Sometimes you will have to compete against others to find the work, other times you will be the only suitable person for the job so finding work won't be too hard.
It's relatively quick to get set up on Odesk, and once you do you can start looking for work right away. I suggest you sign up for a account, have a look around, and see how the system works. Once you're comfortable, decide what services you're going to offer, and start applying for contracts that are already there.
