Calvin Harris has hit out at his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, the pop
star, in a very public feud, accusing her of trying to "bury" him in a
bid for publicity.
Harris, who split with Swift shortly before
she struck up a new relationship with actor Tom Hiddleston, said he was
"hurt" by reports that the lyrics to one of his songs had been written
by her.
Saying he would have happily given her full credit, he
took to Twitter to protest against Swift's team attempting to make him
"look bad" in public.
The dispute appears to have arisen over
Harris' recent song This Is What You Came For, with newspaper reports
today claiming Swift wrote the song for him.
Sharing a version of the story on Twitter, Harris clarified: "And she sings on a little bit of it too. Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual.
"I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym."
Harris went on to accuse the singer of "trying to tear your ex bf down" for "something to do", imploring her to focus on her relationship with Hiddleston instead.
Referring to Katy Perry, the pop star who had another feud with Swift, he said: "I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it.
I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do
"Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you've earned a great one."
He finished his rant with a cheery: "God bless everyone have a beautiful day."
His words follow several weeks of publicity over Swift and new boyfriend Hiddleston.
Some fans have been less-than-impressed, accusing the pair of staging their romance for the cameras.
