Four passengers of a Perodua Myvi narrowly cheated death after their car caught fire near Slim River on Thursday.According to a report by The New Straits Times, the incident took place at the northbound KM371.2 mark of the North South Expressway at 9.30am.Slim River Fire and Rescue Department chief Yussli Abd Latif told the daily that the driver of the Myvi lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch.Yussli added that several firemen were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 9.50am."By the time we reached the scene, the victims had already managed to free themselves from the wreckage. The car had burst into flames," he was quoted as saying.Firemen reportedly took only two minutes to put out the flames, which destroyed almost 80 per cent of the car.All four passengers, meanwhile, reportedly sufferd only minor injuries."The four victims were sent to the Slim River Hospital for treatment," Yussli told NST.
